CareerPurchasing Administrator - Asian-Pacific Markets sought by Custom Furniture & Cabinets, Inc. in Los Angeles, California to purchase tools and parts used for the manufacturing of custom furniture from Asian-Pacific markets; prepare purchase orders, solicit bid proposals, and review requisitions for goods and services; negotiate and administer contracts with suppliers and vendors from Asian-Pacific markets; global logistics supply chain planning; utilize advanced Excel and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems; monitor and follow applicable international trade laws and regulations; research and evaluate suppliers, based on price, quality, selection, service, support, availability, reliability, production and distribution capabilities, and the supplier's reputation and history; negotiate, renegotiate, and administer contracts with suppliers, vendors, and other representatives; determine potential vendors to be solicited for quotes, bids, and requests for proposals; review price quotes, availability of components, determine compliance to specifications and qualifications, and make purchase recommendations; negotiate with vendor representatives; maintain contact with vendors assuring prompt delivery, adherence to specifications, and proper pricing; coordinates with vendors when substitute items must be provided; determine method of purchase, such as direct purchase or bid; assist project managers purchasing orders and logistics; travel to Asia at least 10% of the time to attend trade shows, meet with vendors and find components.
Requires Bachelor's or foreign equivalent degree in Economics, International Business or related field, and two (2) years of experience negotiating and administering contracts with suppliers and vendors from Asian-Pacific markets; global logistics supply chain planning; utilizing advanced Excel and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems. Requires fluency in Chinese language. This position requires travel to Asia 10% of the time.
